Sweet Sherry Spaghetti

Sweet Sherry Spaghetti


You will need
1 lb. of Ground Meat (preferably turkey)
1 Diced Shallot
2 Minced Garlic Cloves
1 tbsp. Marjoram
1 tbsp. Thyme
1 tbsp. Crushed Rosemary
1 tbsp. Oregano
1 tbsp. Basil
2 tbsp. Olive Oil
1/4 cup of chopped Sun-dried Tomatos
1 cup Spaghetti/Angel Hair Pasta
1/4 cup of Cooking Sherry
1 tbsp. Brown Sugar
3 tbsp. Tomato Paste
Sea Salt (to taste)

What to do 

Meat & Sauce

1. Start boiling cold water in a large pot, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to pot.While waiting for water to boil, heat up Large skillet on Medium high heat, add tablespoon of Olive Oil.

2. Immediately add Shallots and Garlic to the skillet, then add a teaspoon of Marjoram, Thyme, Rosemary, Oregano, and Basil. Stir together, quickly add ground meat to skillet.

3. Add sea salt and remaining herbs to the top of ground meat. Incorporate all ingredients into meat while browning the meat. Add sun-dried tomatoes, while continuing to stir and turn all the meat is browned.

4. If you used turkey meat do not drain. Turn heat down to medium-medium low heat. Add sherry, let simmer.

If you used beef or Pork drain, then put meat mixture back in heated skillet. Add 1 cup of room temperature water. Let simmer. Turn heat down to medium-medium low heat.  Add sherry, let simmer. Continue to follow the remaining recipes. 


1. By this time your water should be boiling.

2. Add a dash of salt to the boiling water, then add pasta.

3. Allow  Pasta to cook time to be 7 minutes for angel hair pasta and 12 minutes for spaghetti.

4. Now back to your ground meat with Sherry.

5. Add tomato paste, stir. Add brown sugar, stir again insuring that all ingredients are well incorporated.

6. Simmer until sauce thickens or adheres to meat.

7. Remove from heat. By this time your pasta should be finished.

8. Please check your pasta to assure it is the texture you desire.

9. Once pasta is done, drain. (do not rinse pasta)

10. Plate your pasta and top with the meat and sauce mixture.

11. If you would like, top with grated cheese of your choice. Enjoy!

Challenge: Think of some other additions that could be added to this dish that will enhance the flavor or support the sherry more. Try it out. Create your own variation.
