Sweet Corn Bread

For every person who has developed a desire to have cornbread that is moist and on the sweeter side, this recipe is designed for you.

What you need

1 cup corn meal

1 cup flour

3 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 sugar

2 eggs

2/3 cup milk

1/2 cup of canola oil

1/4 cup sour cream

Cooking Spray

Rectangular Pan (9x13x2) or a little smaller pan


What to do:

Preheat oven on 375

1. Add to a large bowl, corn meal, flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and aerate with whisk. 2. Add milk, eggs and oil. Mix until no lumps. 3. Stir in Sour Cream 4. Spray Pan with cooking spray, then pour in corn bread batter.  5. Bake for 20 minutes or until corn bread is golden brown and springs back with touch. 6. Once done completely remove , butter (optional), let cool for 2 minutes, cut, serve and enjoy.



 Challenge: I have relatives whom have successfully put different types of vegetables in their corn breads. So, I am curious of to see how many other variations can be created that haven’t been thought about or presented.  I encourage you all to experiment with different vegetables, fruits or cheeses and add them to the “Sweet Corn Bread” mix.
