I recently had the opportunity to visit Burton’s Grill for the first time.I was quickly embraced by a warm smile and genuine welcome of the host. As she guided me through the restaurant, I couldn’t help but to notice the very inviting earth toned furniture, fixtures and décor. It was balanced by splashes of color that graced the upper portion of the wall, giving the room an overall artistic contrast.

My server promptly greeted me with full knowledge of the menu and well supported menu recommendations. As a starter, I ordered Burton’s She Crab soup. This soup visually consisted of a light beige color and a dash of paprika. As I lifted the spoon to consume the first taste of the soup, a whiff of Sherry reached my nose. The texture was similar to a tomato based soup with thick chunks of lump crab meat at the bottom. The taste blended as sweet and spicy. My entrée was a large in diameter and about a quarter of an inch thick panko bread crumb dusted crabcake on a soft buttery bun called a “griddle bun” layered with remoulade sauce, tomato, and lettuce. With every bite, the bun seemed to have dissolved in my mouth. The Crab cake sandwich was accompanied by a Burton’s signature coleslaw. You can find this entrée in the Specialty burgers and sandwiches section of the Burton’s Grill lunch menu.
